Albena is a holiday resort purpose-built in the 1960s situated in the North East of Bulgaria and set against the Black Sea.
The 5km long beach is a visual treat with its brilliant white sand and crystal clear water. Behind the beach much of the town is nestled amid the Baltata Natural Reserve and its rolling hills and dense and shady woods, ideal for those seeking respite from the sun. The architecture is designed for maximum exposure to the sun and the majority of them offer swimming pools. Drinking water is dedicated to the well-being and health of all kinds of tourist; bottled water is even more safe.
Most popular sporting and leisure activities are provided, such as horse riding, golf courses, tennis courts and football pitches. The range of activities will provide something for all ages. Shopaholics can enjoy opening hours of 9am-9pm, seven days per week. Restaurants also offer nicely prolonged opening hours, usually from around 7.30am to 10pm. Most establishments will readily accept the major international credit cards.
The nearest airport is Varna, just 30 km away. Transportation consists of a dedicated local rail network and cheap, numerous taxis. Generally traffic noise, and indeed noise in general, is very low.
