From here, move on to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the changing of guards which happens every hour and is a solemn sight to behold.
The ancient Greeks were famed for their theatre. Visit the Theatre of Dionysos and visualise ancient Greek artists passionately playing their part to thunderous applause. Monastiraki is a bustling market place, where you can find plenty of souvenirs, antiques and trinkets. You can also have some wonderful Greek dishes here. New Acropolis Museum
The New Acropolis Museum is located on the southeastern slope leading up to the Acropolis itself. The glass hall offers an amazing view of the Acropolis and the Parthenon. The Museum holds over 4000 different ancient artifacts like jewellery and sculptures from both the Classical Period and the Roman Period.
Acropolis and the Parthenon
The Parthenon is an ancient temple, built around 440BC, on top of the hill the Acropolis, which overlooks the city of Athens. At the top of the Acropolis's flat rocky surface there is 21 historical sites to be seen, including other sites such as the Temple of Athena Nike.
Temple of Athena Nike
The Temple of Athena Nike stands at the very top of the Acropolis and can be seen from anywhere in Athens. It is a very small temple that holds great significance with the Greek population, as Nike means victory and Athena was worshipped in this form, as she was the goddess of victory. The Temple was built over the remains of an older Athena temple that was built around 600BC, which was destroyed by the Persians in 480BC.
Delphi Day Trip
The Delphi day trip takes you to see the magical Delphi. Delphi, famous for its theatre and Temple of Apollo, played a central role in the classical Greek world. During your visit you will take a tour of an archaeological site and a museum filled will treasures such as unique bronze charioteer. Location
