Well, the first thing on everybody’s list has to be the Acropolis. Climb up the hill and you also get to see the Parthenon. It was a temple built to the Greek goddess Athena. From here move on to the Benaki Museum, which houses many interesting Greek artefacts. There is also a section devoted to Chinese art.
You have to see the Changing of the Guard at the Parliament Building, which is quite fun. It’s at 11am every morning, but the one on Sundays are more elaborate. The National Archaeological Museum is rated among the top museums in the world and are a must see. The statues and sculptures displayed here stand out for their beauty. On display is also a 3600 year old gold mask of Agamemnon. You can also see the world’s oldest computer here! Visit the Museum of Cycladic Art to see some art that dates back to pre-historic times and seems almost extra-terrestrial! There is also a Jewish Museum here, detailing the culture, clothes and synagogues of the Jewish community that was wiped out during the Holocaust.
If all this makes you pine for the present, head to Syntagma Square, bustling with people and activity, where you can enjoy some shopping, occasional live music and use wi-fi to plan the next move of your itinerary. You must head to Lykavittos Hill to take in a view of the whole of Athens. It looks awesome at night. If you do not want to walk to the top, there is a cable car that is quite convenient. Bring along your lunch or dinner for a truly spectacular and romantic meal!
There are some lovely beaches here and if you want to take a break from all the sightseeing, the beach is the place to head to. If hiking is what you enjoy, the Athens Regional Park Trail is a great place which provides ample fun for all skill levels.

Visit Athens
Located in the Central Attica Plains, Athens is an amazing place to visit. Within the city there are a lot of sights to see, such as the Acropolis and it's 21 historical sights. Whilst their you could see the Parthenon and Temple of Athena Nike, as well as the New Acropolis Museum. From Athens you could easily take a cruise or ferry to a nearby island and spend the day their. There are also day trips to see sights such as the Delphi Day Trip, which will allow you to see sights such as the Temple of Apollo.
Marathon Battle Site
A very important piece of Greek History, now considered part of Greece's golden age. There are several sites and artifacts located here; there is the Tomb of the Marathon Warriors, the Marathon Museum, Ramnous and the Tomb of the Plataeans. Legend states that after the battle a man ran from Athens to Sparta to announce the Greek victory before he collapsed and died, this legend was the inspiration for the Olympic Marathon when the modern Olympic games where founded in the 19th century.
Temple of Poseidon
On top of a rock face overlooking the sea are the ruins of the Temple of Poseidon, built in 440BC, they offer a fantastic view and the ruins themselves are stunning. From there you can also see quite a distance away provided it’s a clear day, as far as Kythnos, Serifos and Peloponnese.
Mount Parnitha
Mount Parnitha is a vast mountain, with a National Park located there. Standing just over 1400 metres high, it offers amazing views, even allowing you to see as far as nearby islands such as Euboea. With over 1000 species of plants and dense forests covering the mountain, it offers a fantastic walk with shade from the sun and plenty of variety to the scenery.

Athens

Piraeus
Piraeus is the third largest municipality in Greece, the second within Attica. The port of Piraeus is the largest passenger port in Europe and taking a walk around the docks and marinas offers a unique sight. Local cafes lie along the waterfront, allowing you to relax.
Rafina
Rafina is a port town, located east of Athens. From here you can take a ferry or cruise to the south coast of the Island Euboea. There is also some available to the Cyclades, a Greek island group located in the Aegean Sea.

Location
Attica is located in central Greece. The region lies on the Attic peninsula, which connects to the Aegan Sea. With Greece being located within the Mediterranean, the climate is nearly always hot and sunny, with very little rainfall at all during the summer.
