Ericeira is a town along the west coast of Portugal and is popular with tourists and fishermen for its beach - many places in town cater towards one or the other. The name is derived from the Portuguese word for sea urchin and is featured on its coat of arms. The town is known for its interest in the music culture and has a long and rich musical heritage, symbolised by the Filarmónica Cultural Ericeira music school that is free to anyone who wishes to attend.
