The mountainous Aragon is in the Northeastenmost region of Spain composed of three provinces; Teruel, Huesca and the capital Zaragoza lying between Madrid and Barcelona. The snow-capped rugged peaks of the Pyrenees mountains of Huesca offer the more adventurous tourist trekking during the summer and skiing during the winter. Walkers will enjoy the good weather and wonderous variety that Aragon is known for such as dense forests, mountain lakes, and of course, climbing up hills and peaks. Whereas skiiers and fans of other snow sports will marvel at Aragon's seven alpine ski resorts and nine areas of cross country skiing.
Aragon's range of activities also include the Peñaza golf course with eighteen holes and four others with nine holes and cycling in which you can leisurely take in Aragon's landscapes, villages and towns. Or you may be interested in horse riding, hang gliding, canoeing or fishing - whatever your interests are, Aragon is sure to have an activity that will suit you.
Should you prefer a more relaxed vacation, the capital Zaragoza is a bustling city that is host to a number of modern and not-so-modern attractions. There are several churches, cathedrals, estately houses and palaces for sight-seeing plus there are a large amount of popular restaurants, bars and even a beach.
