Alzira is a town on the bank of the Júcar River originally founded by the Muslims and is a walled town surrounded by palm, orange and mulberry groves. However these Arabic walls have been overshadowed by the large buildings in recent times. What was once a mainly agricultural town has become a bustling industrial city with an importance on commercialism. Alzira city has many different shops, fine quality restaurants and a vibrant nightlife. It also has its pleasant rural areas too if you wish to get out of the city without going anywhere - there are stunning mountain views to be had and some excellent walks. The climate is Mediterranean with hot summers and mild winters.
