The hidden town of Callao Salvajae on the west coast is usually overlooked by travellers but if you do wish to find it, it can be found between Playa Paraiso and Playa de La Arena. A relatively new holiday resort, tourists to the area tend to be independent as it has yet to make a strong impact with major holiday travel agents however what was once a small village is rapidly undergoing a transformation with many new residential and holiday homes being constructed to meet demands.
Being new, the resort has yet to gain many entertainments and activities appropriate for tourists and the beach is mainly pebbles rather than sand although an artificial beach is planned in the coming years. Callao Salvajae does however have some restaurants usually of good quality and cost. But many visitors to the resort will be making plans to travel to the nearby beaches and towns, which offer more variety and choice in all aspects. Callao Salvaje is best thought of as a place to stay between travelling to other locations on the island but where ever you may wish to go on Tenerife; it will be within easy reach by car. A hire car will be of convenience though since you will probably wish to go travelling on a daily basis throughout your stay.
