Welcome to our selection of holiday homes to rent in Huelva, Spain.
Huelva is a city along the coast in the southwest of Spain, with the centre being quite pleasant and has several plazas and historical monuments because of its Muslim heritage. Main sights around the city include the Museo de Huelva, a museum specialising in archaeology and the well known Sanctuario de Nuestra Señora de la Cinta, the church which Christopher Columbus is said to have prayed at before setting sail and stayed in Huelva for some time in preparation.
Along some of the city's narrow streets are several shops selling clothing and jewellery as well as seafood and meat all made and caught locally. A shopping centre with department stores lies at the eastern end of Alameda Sundheim.
And perhaps of particular interest to British visitors is the town's Barrio Ingles. Victorian-English style houses dating back to the 19th century where the British miners who were working in the copper mines built themselves familiar housing with typical front gardens. Mock-Tudor semi-detached houses also line some of its streets. These British miners were also responsible for introducing the game of football to Spain.

Things to do
Museo de Huelva - The Museo de Huelva is located within a modern building on the Avenida Sundheim. The museum contains an interesting collection of archaeological finds including objects from the megalithic sites around the city.
There are also Moorish artifacts on show within the museum. Within the mining section of the museum, you will find objects Romans used for mining. One of the biggest finds was a Roman water wheel Río Tinto, which used to be used by slaves for them to get water out of the mines.
Sanctuario de Nuestra Señora de la Cinta - The Sanctuario de Nuestra Señora de la Cinta/Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Tape is a 15th century whitewashed chapel. It is said to be the home of the cities patron saint, which is Virgen de la Cinta. Both brotherhood images appear to be related to Christopher Columbus' arrival in the 15th century and his first departure to America.
