Las Ramblas Golf is a purpose-built resort on the Costa Blanca, with a range of private villas and apartments to buy or rent. As the name suggests, the resort has its own 18-hole golf course while there are another two within walking distance.
Golf widows and their families are not forgotten, however, as there are a range of other amenities on site and the nearest beach is only a short walk away. If you have hired a car, many of the Costa Blanca's tourist attractions are within driving distance, including Benidorm and its theme parks. Holidaymakers can choose to arrive either at Alicante airport, about an hour's drive away, or Murcia, just 20 minutes south of Las Ramblas Golf.
Many of the villas have their own pool areas, but there are also several communal swimming pools on site for those in apartments. The golf course clubhouse is open ever day, not just for golfers, serving snacks and drinks and is open in the evening until late serving a full dinner menu and often featuring live entertainment during the summer months.
For a change of scene, the clubhouse of the neighbouring Réal Campoamor golf course is also open to the public, while an on-site supermarket provides everything you need for self-catering. You can access the towpath of the Tranvase Tajo–Segura Canal from the resort; a pleasant route for jogging, walking or cycling and bicycles can be rented locally by asking at reception.
The nearest beach is at Campoamor, a five-minute walk from the front gate of Las Ramblas Golf. Ideal for families, the beach has a Blue Flag for cleanliness and plenty of parking if you prefer to take the car. You can hire sunbeds and parasols at the beach, however, and there are a number of beach bars and restaurants for lunchtime snacks.
Other beaches in the area include La Zenia, which is less developed than Campoamor and much quieter, as well as the beaches on the shores of the Mar Menor to the south. The Mar Menor is an inland salt-water lagoon and is ideal for young children as there is no tide or waves to worry about. If you want to experience some traditional Spanish culture, the pretty coastal towns of Orihuela and Torrevieja are both home to picturesque old quarters as well as their popular seafront areas.
