Ojen, despite being just a ten minute car journey away from Marbella, has remained a relatively unspoilt village at the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves. Founded by the Moors Ojen is a tranquil and beautiful village situated between the sierras Blanca and Alpujata. The old part of the town has narrow cobbled streets leading up to the ruins of the old Moorish castle.
Ojen was famous for the production of anise liqueur popular as an accompaniment to morning coffee in Spain. Nearby the Serrania de Ronda is a popular destination for hikers and walkers enjoying the fantastic views of Marbella and the coast.
