Orba Valley lies in northern Costa Blanca and has a Mediterranean climate making for hot summers and mild winters. It is known for its natural beauty, lush vegetation and impressively amazing mountainous landscapes. Orba Valley is mainly covered in orange groves, lemon trees almonds and olives.
There are several villages in Orba Valley of various sizes with many of the smallest ones almost being like stepping back in time for the typical tourist to the busy coastal resorts. Life in the Orba Valley is very laid-back with only the village of Orba being typical of a modern quiet Spanish village. However, these small villages do have their own charm if you know what to expect and find it appealing.
Orba is not a tourist-orientated village but visitors there would be able to find the usual range of services and facilities with shops offering the typical goods including some English goods. There is a public swimming pool, a weekly market and several restaurants, which offer a variety of different cuisines. There is a shopping centre next to the motorway in Ondara around 10km away that has many different shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment.
Orba has its own Fiestas with its own variation on the bull running that is a popular fiesta throughout Spain. In Orba, cows are used instead of the bulls during the running. The cows may be smaller but are quite agile and can still cause damage to those caught by them. Another form of this held in the village of Denia is an enclosed square with one side being open to the quay of the harbour; participants would stand on the quay against the water to bait the bull and attempt to get the bull into the water. Often, the people would end up falling in the water themselves.
