San Juan de la Rambla is a small fishing town along the northwestern coast of Tenerife, its natural beauty largely untouched by tourists and modern culture. Many of the houses in the town are typically Canarian, dating back to 17th and 18th centuries. The old buildings of the village in its historic centre are of interest to see such as the Church of San Juan Bautista (John the Baptist), which also has its own swimming pool, and there is a promenade opposite the Las Aguas beach. The beach consists mainly of black rocks and pebbles though, and the waters here are unsuitable for swimming in. Those wishing to bathe however can go to the swimming pool that is by the coast. There are several cafes and restaurants close along the seafront. Being a fishing village the main dish here is of course fish that have been caught locally.
