Ovacik, a simple village in the district of Fethiye in the Mugla Province may have holiday resorts such as Hisarönü adjoining it, but Ovacik is a beautiful little holiday resort in it's own right, with a number of small restaurants and bars catering for people of all ages who prefer a quiet evening out rather than deal with the loud noises that come from Hisarönü. The village is set on what could be described as a plateau at the foot of Babadag (Turkish meaning; father mountain) is a favourite paragliding spot for people from all over Europe, and while people say the snow covered mountains are eye catching, the beaches are the reason for the extremely beautiful climate in Ovacik.
The beautiful blue lagoon and Belcekiz beach are a mere ten minutes away at most, so if anyone fancies a walk or a sunbathe or a swim, then feel free to walk out there and enjoy your time, Ovacik is known the world over for it's beach volley-ball and para-sailing and if you ever wanted to get up close and personal with dolphins and other sea life without having to pay too much for it, then you're in luck because you can do that too as scuba diving is available, or if you like wearing your cycling shorts, then why not put them on and cycle through the village
