Texas is the second largest state in the U.S. and is also known as The Lone Star State.
The most prominent part of Texas is Houston, only for the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, which is a part of NASA but if NASA doesn't catch your interest, then there are always other fun things you can do.
Visit the Alamo, where you can see where 182-260 Texans held out against centralist army General Antonio López de Santa Anna for 13 days, after which all but 2 where killed. Take a cruise with Canyon of the Eagles, and view the wildlife, wintering Bald Eagles and bird watching. Then again, if that doesn't catch your eye, why not visit the State Aquarium and its 3,000 marine inhabitants.

Johnson State & National Park in Stonewall, Texas, or if you love shopping, you could visit San Marcos and visit the shopping outlet in the region and enjoy spending the dollars, or, another place you could try shopping with it's prominent and distinct amount of shops is the Broadway Square Mall, or enjoy a concert with the Granbury Live where you can watch a professional cast wearing amazing costumes and watching a beautifully choreographed show.
If you're a car enthusiast, then you will surely enjoy visiting Dave's Classic Garage in Austin, and having a look at the 65 beautifully pristine classic cars, or if you like a good game of golf, you could try the Golf Club's, or, why not take in a show by visiting a beautiful replica of Shakespeare's own theatre, The Globe Theatre. If flying is something that you enjoy, why not take a sight seeing tour with the Flight Centers, or you could try Horseback Riding.
If you happen to be in Texas in the first three weeks of March, make sure that you see the Houston Livestock and Rodeo. A one of a kind event with professional rodeo competitions, along with some big names in music performing live.
The Dallas Farmers Market is where you can taste the free samples before deciding on what to eat at the oldest public market of its kind in the country. Once satiated, head to Sixth Floor Museum to seek understanding and information about the assassination of President Kennedy. If you want to admire the Dallas skyline, the place to be in is the Belmont Hotel or the W among others.
If Blues and Jazz is your thing, Dallas is the place. You can move on to Oak Cliff where you can have your fill of this genre of music. There are open microphone opportunities almost every night that are listed in the Dallas Blues Listing. Or head to 6th street to take in some live performances.
Then, head to the Nasher Sculpture Center where you can admire pre-Columbian art and other objects from ancient Latin America. The place also shows films based on old classic movies for free. If you want to dress up, you can try on some vintage clothes at the Buffalo Exchange. Move on to Reunion Tower to get a bird’s eye view of the city 500 feet above the ground.
Ever tried your hand at a bow? Head to Texins Archery Club to get your aim right with a compound bow or a classic straight bow. And if dancing is what gets you moving, the Dallas Swing Society provides dance lessons. In September-October see the State Fair of Texas to enjoy live music, carnival rides, good eats and see the annual Texas-Oklahoma football match.
