The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a must see.
Head to Mount Vernon Estate, located along the shores of the Potomac River, which houses the family home of George Washington. The museum has several exhibits about America’s first president and his family. The Great Falls Park, along the Potomac River, is one of the most spectacular landmarks in Virginia. Along with the view, you can choose from a host of activities like hiking, rock climbing, kayaking and biking to have a great time.
At the space museum, you can take in the display of the massive space shuttle, Enterprise, besides other aircrafts and spacecrafts. Children will especially enjoy the IMAX theatre along with the variety of exhibits. The US Air Force Memorial honors the people who served in the air force. The three stainless steel spires soaring 270 feet in the air are an awesome sight to behold.
At the Wolf Trap Farm Park, the north Virginia concert venue, you are sure to come across performances and concerts that are captivating. They include pop, country and folk along with opera, dance and theatre.
The National Marine Corps Museum is state-of-the-art and uses interactive technology to bring alive the values, mission and culture of the Marine Corps. It also includes a heritage center and is a must see to understand and appreciate the Marine Corps.
