No trip to Wyoming can be complete without a visit to one of the famed Rodeos. Cowboys, animated announcers, clowns and fans create an atmosphere that is filled with raw courage and the authentic western spirit that paved the way when the settlers first came. There are many such shows, but Lander is among the oldest and promises a lot of fun.
Then head to the outdoors to enjoy some horse riding. There are many places that provide this facility, and a ride on one of those gentle mountain creatures transports you to a different world as you gaze at the breath-taking mountain ranges, meadows and streams. There are also enterprises that offer western horseback holidays. Further on, Bighorn Canyon is a place where time seems to be standing still. You can see how geologic forces have pushed the once level layers of rock into immense walls. Take some time to enjoy the prairie, canyon, valley and desert that make up this region.
The Grand Teton mountain range promises to give you a great time in the outdoors with camping, hiking, boating and great photography opportunities. Keep the camera ready as there are innumerable stunning mountain sceneries and an extremely diverse array of wildlife. There is fun to be had in the air too, floating lazily in a hot air balloon up above everything.

While here, also worth a visit is the Museum of the Old West, where you will find buildings dating from 1879 to 1901. You will come across Indian materials, guns, carriages and clothing that was used in the early days.
The deer Creek Museum is dedicated to Native American artefacts from the pioneer times. It also houses building permits, historic maps and the accounts of the local residents.
